CV/Bio
Patricia Koscienski was born in western Pennsylvania as a coal miner's daughter, and has been a long-time resident of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania. Her interest in art began after nurses' training with a portrait class in New York. Marriage, family, and formal education became her main drive over the next several years, although art in some form always remained a part of her life.
Her fine art education truly came with a vengeance about 16 years ago. Studying under many local artists at the Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, and York Art Associations, as well as HACC, Millersville University and Penn State University has given Pat the ability to be eclectic in her technique and use of mediums.
Fine art painting has now become her full-time job. Her favorite subjects are landscapes, portraits, wildlife, pets, and still life; oil, acrylic and pastel are her favorite mediums. Style and works range from realism, impressionism, and abstraction. She paints area scenes and landscapes on location (plein air) and travels to paint in many counties in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Pat exhibits her art in local galleries and art associations and has won many awards in member and juried exhibits. She is a member of Pennsylvania En Plein Air Society, American Impressionist Society, International Society of Experimental Artists, RT 15 byway of the Arts, and many local art associations. Her works are featured throughout America and in Germany. Pat's main goal is to show a variety of life's vignettes through an artist's eye.
